Panama Canal Vacations

Panama Canal VacationsInfo for a Panama Canal cruise .....?

We are active seniors planning a cruise through the Panama Canal. Please, any information you can give us would be great. We live in Southern California. Would like to hear the postive and negative feedback to help us plan our vacation.
Thank you ...

Well, you have several options to cruise the Panama Canal. You can navigate to the channel for an experience to go through the locks. Or, you can cruise through any channel from one end to another and end your cruise in Florida is going in the opposite direction and end in California. OR, some cruises are more make a transit time through, or you can book two separate campaigns that go in both directions which makes a round trip. You can start your cruise on the west coast or east coast.

Panama Canal Cruise is cruising the news with stops at several ports and the Panama Canal is one of them. Thus, for example, if you do not cruise the California ports you'll probably stop in Mexico, like Puerto Vallarta, Acapulco and a few others on the way and perhaps a stop in the Caribbean like Jamaica and / or Grand Cayman on your way to Florida, according to the itinerary and cruise line. You must therefore provide at least 14 days for the cruise and then a day or two to travel back in California.

We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise there and although we did not transit the entire canal boat, we make a tour of the ship that was a train trip through the locks of Panama to the West Coast and a tour there as well. Thus, one of the things you might want to consider when selecting a cruise is what tours are available in Panama.

We made our cruise on Princess to Panama and I would not recommend and Celebrity, Royal Caribbean Cruises and Holland America Line for a great first class cruise. Holland is the line that citizens have the highest, the passenger age of 60 to 70 and above, and they have lots of onboard activities for the elderly, such as conferences and seminars. But you can not go wrong with any of the lines I mentioned.

Panama and the Caribbean can be hot and humid and Panama gets plenty of rain. I think a cruise would be the best spring and you sure you want to avoid the Caribbean during hurricane season (June-November). Book early to get the best price and look special, all cruise lines have.

We did the Panama Canal cruise from outside San Diego. So it would be very easy for you both. Of course, we did the entire channel that brought us to Florida, then you'd have to go home from there. The cruise line can arrange your return flight if you wish. Even ground transportation is provided if you want (we always do it because it is so easy and carefree). The whole trip was very relaxing and exciting. We particularly liked Costa Rica and still get our coffee from there shipped right to our house. We took the princess who I think is perfect in every way. BTW, we are also active seniors. I really have no negative comments about our trip at all or with the princess.

I went through the Panama Canal a few years ago on the QE2 and just loved it! I suggest you go out on deck very early, chairs, and remain there during the day. When you go inside for a potty break, to get a cold drink, etc., to turn so your couch will not be taken. Take a camera and have a blast!
