Panama Canal TravelHow long does it take to travel the Panama Canal by boat?

8 to 10 hours is correct. If you plan to visit, there is another way to see the channel that requires less day you tied to a boat. There is a train along the channel bottom in Colon with only a brief stopover in between a small place called Frijoles. Depending on the season you may have to travel in one direction in the morning and return in the evening. But at least at the other end, you'll have to explore Colon.

For more information on shopping in Colon which is a free great see http://www.panamaexpertos.com/forum/free ...
