What are the best brands of outdoor tents for back-packing? I am a big fan of MSR tents, with the Hubba Hubba (super lightweight) model. MSR is known for producing high quality tents.
You can also try a Big Agnes tent too (house 2 seed, and the tent mountain) - Super lightweight and strong.
I have much experience with The North Face, Mountain Hardwear, Kelty, Eureka, etc., but I do not think they are as good as any of the other two for the ride.
Integral Designs makes a Siltarp 2 which is good for emergency shelters, etc.
Keep in mind that tents from Coleman, LL Bean, REI, Sears, Cabela's own brand will be much heavier and not as well built.
Coleman whole line!
I did lots of hiking in the Grand Canyon, and believe it or not, I found a tent in Wal-Mart has a pole, and you use that as a hiking stick as you walk. I do not remember the brand, however, I think it's a Coleman. it weighs 3.5 pounds from the pole. other than what you could spend up to $ 200, like a good lightweight tent for backpacking. There might ck it. oh it is called a tent for 2 people, although it would have to be a little tired of being there with me, its a bit narrow.
