New Zealand Hostels

My friend and I travel throughout New Zealand and want to find cheap accommodation in hostels, but it is important for us to have twin rooms instead of dormitories, bathrooms and bathroom. How easy / difficult it is to find such places for money too?

You'll pay for an extra bathroom .... I work part-time cleaner in a backpack (Watsons Way ... near Blenheim and I highly recommend it for housing) ... and I know they cost more for ensuites .. .. That said, they have 2 bathrooms, near the bedrooms .... and you can get a double room is cheaper ... not much to walk a few meters down the hall in your bathroom one!

That's what my wife and I looked in our travels around the North Island. Very little. The only one I remember is the Tairua south of a bridge on the water side of the road.

Most youth hostels (YHA) in major centers have double rooms with bathroom.
The run-of-the-mill backpackers are not likely to have the equipment you require.
