Road trip from Sydney to Gold Coast? I'll do a road trip with my sister from Sydney to the Gold Coast, staying a few large cities on the road. We will be going between 2-4 hours each trip. We are looking for some nice places on the way you should stop for lunch, a walk on the beach or even a photoshoot on the incredible landscape.
Sydney - 3 nights
Lake Macquaire / Nine Mile Beach - walk on the beach
Newcastle (Honeysuckle rental bikes?) - 1 night
Port Stephens - for lunch
Port Macquarie - 1 night
Coffs Harbour or Nambucca Heads - 1 night
Yamba - 1 night
Do you recommend any places around these areas instead of staying? Do you have any secret spots along the coast to Squiz worth? Or any other low-cost housing recommended (cabins, lodges, backpackers). We want to stay at a luxury location for one of our nights - but not really sure where.
THANKS to all the answers in advance!
Ps We want to stay near the beach, travel the coast, take a billion pictures and love walks along the beach / headland

Having traveled this road several times and saw the sign 77 km north of Newcastle in the Hawkes Nest and Tea Gardens I finally went in that direction to investigate. What a fun night good, we spent there. The area was beautiful, the beach had dolphins play. I saw a dingo running along and we had water views to Nelson Bays. We checked several motels and found a very nice place which was 1 block from the beach. It was the same price we had looked at another who was not nearly as beautiful. Unfortunately, I do not remember the name of the resort motel. Woolgoolga also worth a look, they have a nice beach. It is the city that many Indians have come to live and work in banana plantations. had a good Indian meal here the city has mosques and Indian culture.
