Michigan Concealed Weapons Permit

I am a university student, and almost everyday I'm 20 minutes walk from my car through areas that are not safe at all. I thought about buying a butterfly knife recently, but I am aware that its against the law to carry a knife blade length over 3 inches of MI.

My question is, can I get a concealed weapons permit for a knife, then carry it?

There is no law regarding the length of a knife that you can do in Michigan. You can carry a knife with a 12 "blade as long as you do not do it for illegal purposes.

butterfly knives themselves are often illegal in most states.

A pepper spray would be a better and safer. And without a permit.
