Michigan City Hotels

for a hotel near New York where I will not have to pay more for parking than I am to the room? Is this journey by bus / train / ferry, but will go to Manhattan two days in a row, and to return one evening after 10 hours. expensive city for someone to come to visit kin. Just need a clean bed to lay down my head.
