Accommodation for 2 nights and 2 nights in Townsville on Magnetic Island at the end of October? Any recommendations on accommodation for 2 nights and 2 nights in Townsville on Magnetic Island at the end of October?
My budget max is $ 180 per night, but if I can spend less, it would be very beneficial
Accommodation preference:
- Suitable for a single person
- With a small fridge (large enough to store a bottle of water, etc.)
- TV would be nice but not essential
- I'm having a rental car, so I need a challenge so parking
In Townsville, a great city for about $ 180 per night Quest is, right in the city, and Holiday Inn, raised on the mall. But I think you could find cheaper, personally I head for a motel along the Strand, they have much more reasonable price (like $ 70ish at night they have a TV, small fridge, a car Parking and are suitable for a single person) and I think that staying along the Strand is great - beautiful views of Magnetic Island, and you can not find a better way to start and end your day with a beautiful beach walk, I really enjoyed it. There are places to eat and a drink (I recommend the relatively new and very popular watermark), and you are always close to the city.
Magnetic Island is my absolute favorite Bungalow Bay (Horseshoe Bay), he used to Geoff's Place, I just stood there then, and it was a bit dilapidated, but when I revisited since they have new owners and a new name, it is excellent. They have cabins and a nice bar and restaurant, and even a koala sanctuary, and only a short walk from the beach. Horseshoe Bay is the best place to stay on Maggie, Picnic Bay is old and the premises are dilapidated, Nelly Bay is too developed for my taste, and Horseshoe Bay are the best beach activities and also some great bushwalks. If you go to hike Forts, compare a population of wild koalas in the trees, I saw them all the time i spent there.

Wotif have some good deals Casino would be nice to stay in their rooms from $ 145 at the time
I definitely recommend Wotif or Quickbed or similar deals last minute accommodation online. Some of them offer up to one month in advance now at a good price - better and better the closer you get your required dates. Both Townsville and the island, thus responding to tourists, so I would not worry too much yet. Will be approaching the end of the tourist season too, should not be too difficult to find somewhere
I also recommend the Holiday Inn in Townsville, prices start at about $ 100 per night.
Also consider Bungalow Bay mentioned here.
