Most five-star hotels to respond to your request, but your desire for a tree tells me you're really in the holiday spirit. As such, I direct you to hotels in what is probably the most "Christmas-sy" area in the country: Midtown Manhattan, near Central Park and Rockefeller Center.

My first choice: The Pierre on Fifth Avenue and the Ritz-Carlton Central Park South. I know the janitors in the two hotels, and their policy is to never say no to a client request. Be assured, a tree in your room will not be a problem.

Moreover, both are next to Central Park, and Christmas is the perfect time of year for a carriage ride. In addition, both are just a few blocks from Rockefeller Center with its ice skating and huge trees, and decorated extravaganlty upscale stores along Fifth Avenue.
