What airlines do if you get on the plane and your luggage on the too big? I'm about the United Kingdom and was given a bag very very hard.
I looked at the site of United Airlines and found that the baggage is 45 linear inches, including the handles and wheels.
The bag has been used and has no tags.
The sides are rounded and each time I realize I get a different measure.
According to the manufacturer's website they un''21 and a housing 24''. Even if I 24''la the difference between my case and the "requirements" is about 4 linear inches (because the wheels.)
What happens if I get there and my case is too big?
What will they do?
I'm just taking this one bag.
I am concerned, I get to the door and:
* There will be measured and sent to "arrive late"
* I'll make it through security to see that it does not fit into the luggage compartment.
How can I make sure my bag will fit? I would not be one of those shots that makes the entire airspace.
Do not know everything, but .. If you read the entire page-
The obligation of the United States is 45 inches.
If you are from the United Kingdom it is 45 inches including the handle and wheels.
use it on your flight to the United Kingdom and on the way home, ask the person ticket. You can check this in the way back.
They do not measure or anything. if it is a bit bigger than they know. they just turn the bag on its side in the tray.
Good luck
Regarding the extent of your case, open it and measure internally first, then add the handles and wheels, and you should have an accurate measurement to determine if yours is 21 "or 24" that the difference is clear at least 2 "on each dimension.
As for oversize bags, if you passed through security and reached the door, and he is determined to be about the size, then they'll check in baggage, but if they check the arrival, they take the time and check in
you're probably fine ex USA - if you must get on the plane and it is not appropriate, they check the door. Where you might have a problem is on the way back, the little that BAA would be held outside Hitler security are delighted to find a bag that does not correspond to their bounding box, and refer you to verify .... What does it take on the road anymore!
Face a difficult case that large does not fit in the overhead - they tend to be smaller on international flights
On our airline, if it does not fit, it will be checked door and you will not be charged. You do not know the policy of others.
When you arrive at the registration desk and you give them your large suitcase to check .. they should also examine your luggage room ... if not, then ask them ... you will not face this problem when you do get on the plane.
They'll have it checked. Which means it goes under the plane and it will cost you money.
They just make you check. Usually free. It happened to me several times. Don `t worry.
If it is too large to keep you most likely not to plan a piece of oversized luggage. The check-in and gate agents are very good to watch your luggage and whether it is in the size of hand luggage.
The 21 "luggage that you provided the link should be good for luggage, the 24" is not.
I do not know why you can not accurately measure the bag, it is not hard to do. Simply measure the widest point, the thickest point and the longest point with the handle at bottom
You can always ask when you check-in if the bag is ok to continue, if not they will do.
