Do you have hotel rates for the better and not making reservations? I'm planning a trip to Myrtle Beach last minute leaving tomorrow and I found a hotel that I wanted to stay. Could / should I get a better rate if I just arrived, or should I go ahead and make reservations? I read some comments from some hotels and I saw some comments saying: "We used their march in the rate and has much", etc. I know I would run the risk of not finding a vacancy, but could I get a better rate?
If it's a big chain like Holiday Inn, Marriott, then they can not be allowed to lower their prices, even if they have a couple rooms left ... If it's a small hotel and staff generally have greater freedom to choose their own rates and can give you a good deal if they wish.
I work in a hotel and the key is to be very pleasant. For someone who is nice and friendly, we can give a great price and include free breakfast, but someone who has an attitude and is ready to book a suite dear, we can say that we are fully simply because we do not like him / her. Believe me - happens everywhere ...
Give them a call and ask how many rooms they have left and then see if it's worth the risk
Sometimes you'll get a better rate as a rendezvous ... but you always risk of a sold out situation. Depends on how flexible you are ...
Saving a little money is not worth the frustration of not having a vacancy. Have fun on your trip.
just call the hotel in advance ... if no major event in the city, you should not have a problem getting a room. At present, most tourists are done for a while, because it's back to school. if they are available, do a walk-in.
