The station formerly known as the Lake Louise Mountain Resort is located in Banff National Park. The station is on the south side of the mountain ridges of Merlin Slate range that offers some of the most majestic landscape views in Canada. The base station is bordered by the Pipestone River, a tributary of the Bow River. The proximity of these beautiful natural treasures offers great hiking and backpacking in spring and summer.
As for the skiing itself, Lake Louis has excellent facilities and state of the art elevator to access the best skiing and hiking. With 139 ski runs: 25% marked for beginners, 45% for intermediate and advanced 30% there is something for every level skier and rider. There is a large park field for all riders in your party and four pavilions full service heating and eating on the mountain. The base elevation of the mountain is 5400 m and at an altitude of 8,652 m at the top of which offers an area of 3,252 vertical change you for alpine skiers. The station receives approximately 15 feet of snow per year and covers nearly 4200 acres of skiable terrain. 9 lifts state of the art in the service of this area, with 3 lifts, a triple, a chair fixed grip quad, 2 high speed quads, high speed six passenger chair and gondola. The gondola is open all year for sight seeing glaciers, wildlife, natural springs and sometimes like bears.
