Is it true that many Japanese companies have nap rooms for employees to take a nap? I read "nap rooms" that some / many Japanese companies have dedicated people to have a little sleep after lunch. So that employees are provided "desk pillows" with so they can sleep on their desks. What is true? Are there any good Japanese words for these things?
Most companies do not have nap rooms. But I guess there are several establishments nap in Otemachi the city and the area around Tokyo Station. Such area is called area Saraly men.
I've never seen a company providing "cushions office.
Nap after lunch is more popular in the country of China.
In my nearly twenty years of business experience and travel in Japan I have not found a nap room. They have smoking rooms and cafeterias. But with the changes that occur I would not be surprised if they introduce a nap rooms.
No, this is not true. The concept of "nap" is not very famous in Japan. It is more likely that you'll be at work early, stay late, then fall asleep on the train home.
Not many companies have nap rooms (ไปฎ ็oe kamin ๅฎค-shitsu).
The company I worked for 20 years there were bedrooms with bunk beds, and nap rooms with lots of sofas, because there were many shiftworkers. But it was exeption rather than the rule, and the situation is not very different today.
The only places that need nap rooms are those changes more than 12 hours ... This includes firefighters, police, train drivers, bus drivers long distance flight attendants waiting in airports ... but to a society accustomed to?? Not at all! Work is work is work .... and new work.
I do not think this is true. Some places have rooms where you can sleep, but it would be during the night, not during the day.
My husband used to work at a city hall and someone would be there 24 hours, if employees work to turn this change. The council had a large tatami room for sleeping, but all were futons in the closet. Thus, during the day the room could be used as a meeting room, but during the night, people could sleep on the floor.
