Do I really need an airbag for the winter in my pool? Want to know if I can do without. I did not get the damn thing in the middle of my pool of 24 feet, swerving always on the side somewhere. Also, my pool is flush with the deck and my pillow just to wind can pass through undernerneath and blow the lid seems safe whatever I tie it down!
The pillow holds the lid of the water and allows rain and snow to flow. nylon ropes Secure the pillow and tie on the sides of the pool or deck to hold it in place.
The pillow is designed to assist in the expansion of ice. Without it, the ice may form one side of the pool to another and thus extend the breakdown of your pool. You can buy a small heater floating (used for fish ponds) which would maintain a portion of ice melt and in a manner would be the same as the pillow (I never tried this though. ) You can also try to tie the pillow of every 4 corners or even using an old tire or something heavy that will not rip your shirt and tie to your pillow so it acts like a buoy and can not drift too far.
Honor, the purpose of the pillow is if the pool does not freeze solid and extend the sides and thus, a bust of your pool. Yes, it is essential to have that in the pool. It need not be dead center right ... but it must be in your pool for winter to prevent water from freezing solid.
The pillow is there to prevent your cover from sinking into the water. If your coverage well it defeats the purpose (dirt and debris keeping the pool) to have it.
