Imax ChattanoogaJust what is the Chattanooga Choo Choo?

Chattanooga is a city in southern Tennessee near the Georgian border, most famous for its Choo Choo - but what exactly is the Chattanooga Choo Choo? According Chattanooga.com: "This train is a song and it's a hotel (sic)" which looks more like a description of superhero plagiarized clarification. However, look at why all three are called Choo Choo Chattanooga, starting with the train.

The Chattanooga Choo Choo train is believed to have been the steam engine operated by Wood Railway South of Cincinnati, which first operated out of Cincinnati, March 5, 1880 in Chattanooga. 'Choo Choo' was the affectionate name given to all steam locomotives burning wood at the time, and the final destination has led to the alliterative moniker "Chattanooga Choo Choo."

After the demise of the steam era, most trains have been removed, but a fine example of early locomotives Chattanooga Choo Choo, which took place on the line from Cincinnati has been preserved and is on permanent display at the terminal station in Chattanooga. There are other parts of the steam age and station, and train enthusiasts in search of more memories Choo Choo can also visit the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum in the suburb of East Chattanooga.

The song "The Chattanooga Choo Choo" on the other hand, an agreement was made by the Glenn Miller Orchestra in 1941, Sun Valley Serenade film and features the immortal line: "Pardon me boys, is this Chattanooga Choo Choo? " The lyrics refer to the track 29 which is the line on which the locomotive is now displayed at the Terminal Station in Chattanooga. One of the most memorable numbers from Miller, he won the leadership of the group a gold record in 1942 with sales of over 1.2 million.

And finally, the Chattanooga Choo Choo is also a hotel and convention center spans 24 acres in downtown Chattanooga, including the original steam locomotive Choo Choo. It is the only hotel in Chattanooga that offers Victorian Wagons as hotel accommodation. It is also the "Dinner in the Diner" which is a fine dining restaurant that is housed in a dining car at the beginning.

So even if there are three definitions of the Choo Choo is obvious that two of them - the song and the hotel - owe their entire existence to the original and final Chattanooga Choo Choo steam locomotive train 1880.

And although the Choo Choo is undoubtedly one of the main reasons why most people visit Chattanooga, the city offers much more. It also houses the Tennessee Aquarium, IMAX cinema and the Creative Discovery Museum. Located near the Lookout Mountain attractions including Ruby Falls, Rock City Gardens and the funicular. If you are looking for a Chattanooga Choo Choo, you find all three - and a wonderful city offering warm southern hospitality.
