Nowadays, one of the recreation areas largest river Yarra is Southgate. Long an area of factories and warehouses shabby, this area on the south bank of the river has been redesigned in the early 1990s and turned into a stretch of river of boutiques, bars and restaurants.

The zone begins at the picturesque Alexandria Bridge to the rear of Flinders Street Station. From here you can stroll through the collection Southgate shops, bars and restaurants in a picturesque river.

Not only delicious riverside area in itself, but most attractions like Federation Square in Melbourne, with its galleries are nearby.

After lunch, you can rent a canoe at Studley Park. From here you can paddle one of the most beautiful stretches of the Yarra River. Kayaks are also available for rent.

In the evening, Southgate is the ideal place for a sunset and if you fell like trying your luck, you can head to the Crown Casino, part of the Crown Entertainment Complex which is a major stop on the river Yarra. If this is the game you want, you will find everything you want, but there is much to see and do outside the playground.

There are a multitude of shops and restaurants and the atrium offers frequent exposure. It also hosts many annual international events the city. In total there are 17 bars, 35 restaurants and cafes, apartments and theaters.
