Gabriola IslandVictoria BC Real Estate areas Bonus - Other Real Estate Community

The City of Victoria began its humble origins in 1840 as Fort Victoria, the outpost of Western operations for the Hudson Bay fur trading. The fort was later incorporated into a city in 1862. Today, Victoria is a booming metropolis with a population estimated at more than 80 000 inhabitants living in 13 separate municipalities that are embedded in Greater Victoria.

In a previous article three part series on the three main communities to buy real estate in Victoria, British Columbia, were discussed. These communities, Victoria good, and the Westshore area of the peninsula contain the majority of residential prosperity available in Victoria, but they are not the only communities available to settle bonus This article examines three of the outlying communities Gulf Islands region, the Highlands and the Malahat area.

1) Gulf Islands

Located in the Strait of Georgia, there are over 200 islands in the District of British Columbia Gulf Islands. This group of islands are divided into two groups, the southern and northern Gulf Islands. These islands in the southern section, which are Gabriola Island, Galiano Island, Kuper Island, Mayne Island, North and South Pender Islands, Saltspring Island, Saturna Island, Thetis Island and Valdes Island are those considered part of unincorporated communities of the Greater Victoria when it comes to real estate. The largest, most populated islands, such as the islands of Salt Spring, Pender, Mayne, Galiano and Saturna are daily ferry service to Victoria and Vancouver. Real estate options include many types of residences, including single and multi-family dwellings, as well as many waterfront properties.

2) Highlands

The Highlands is a rural residential area northwest of Victoria, located on the Saanich Peninsula. With more than a third of the Highlands to be protected as parks, municipal, regional and provincial, it houses many potion Gowlland Tod Provincial Park Mount Work Regional Park and Lone Tree Regional Park. When it comes to choice real estate, there are single family and multifamily housing available, but most residents are encouraged to build their own homes with the least impact on the environment.

3) Malahat & Area

Malahat consists of the area surrounding the 25 km section of Highway 1, known as the Malahat Drive, which runs along the west side of Saanich Inlet in Victoria. Malahat is properly regarded as a rugged region containing mature forests and steep cliffs. Just north is the community of Shawnigan Lake, an area known for its pristine lakes, followed by the community of Mill Bay, known for its waterfront properties, and beyond which is the farming village of Cobble Hill. Most residents live in isolated areas Malahat which lies off the road. Real estate options include single and multifamily homes and farmland and waterfront properties.

This bonus section of the Victoria area, British Columbia, real estate is the fourth and final installment of this series. If you want more information about Victoria real estate, please look for the first three articles. The first part discussed the community of Victoria and included good Victoria, Victoria West, Esquimalt, Oak Bay, Saanich East, Saanich West, and View Royal. The second part examines the Westshore communities, which included Colwood, Langford, Metchosin and Sooke.
