Florida Keys CampingThe Florida Keys - Tropical Paradise offers fishing, diving, camping and the best margaritas Anywhere

One thing I like most about living in Florida is that it is an ideal place for vacation, even if you live here. It seems no matter where you live, east coast, west coast, in the Panhandle or South Florida a few hours drive in any direction and you can be somewhere that does not look like home if you feel you've really taken flight in all this. The enclave is affectionately called the Redneck Riviera with its emerald green waters and white sand beaches. The west coast is an ideal place to go "island hopping" with Sanibel, Lovers Key and all the other little places tucked away. The east coast is ideal for surfing, small wave capital is here on our own history and Cocoa Beach, St. Augustine, also on the east coast of Florida, is the oldest city in the country, but if you want really feel that you have fled to the south. South Florida is truly a tropical location, the tropics actually start in the south-central Florida and it becomes green and lush the further south you go.

We have our own little tropical paradise known as the Florida Keys . The keys are made up of many small islands and island chains and are state of Florida so they lie in the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Gulf of Mexico, on the other. Key Largo is up and considered the first Key. Key Largo is the one made famous by the movie watching Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall and singing. The waters around the Keys are warm and crystal clear what attracts many divers and snorkelers who lends to Key Largo with the popular nickname of the "Diving Capital of the World."

Islamorada is the next most popular spot to stop on the way to the island chain. Islamorada is actually made up of six different islands and has a reputation for sport fishing capital of the world. They have a fleet of highly skilled masters of recreational fisheries will be happy to go out with you for a day to see what bites. Islamorada is also famous for a place called Robbie's Marina where they sell buckets of bait for feeding swarms of tarpon that hang around the docks. It's so fun to eat, I did. Islamorada is also known for their potential to swim with dolphins. They also have a history of diving museum there which is pretty interesting.

Another place not to miss is John Pennekamp State Park . They are known as an ideal place for diving and snorkeling and the only living coral reef in the continental United States. Over one million people from around the world to enjoy the water, trails and camping facilities offered by the park. They also have the "Christ of waters", a 19-foot statue of a bronze people all around diving, some even up to touch his outstretched hands.

Marathon is considered by many as the "middle" of the Keys and place of the famous 7 mile bridge. Marathon also is a major sport fishing destination, is also popular for spearfishing and have a lobster season opened during the year, the marathon is a great place to try and catch a few.

Big Pine Key is a short distance from the famous Seven Mile Bridge, where the keys to this turn soft and west is considered the beginning of the Lower Keys. This is where you can come to relax its a little less crowded and more natural than some of the other keys. Probably one of the biggest draws in Big Pine Key is the key national.
