Gift Baskets for the destination wedding ... choice of alcohol? I'm getting married in the south and I began planning my gift baskets ... I wonder what kind of alcohol to put in it ... Do you think the champagne is too formal for a welcome drink ... You can preorder Nectar Imperial / Moet & Chandon Brut or Moet Split with the flight that I take but I know nothing of champagne ... is this stuff any good? Or should I just stick with wine or rum? Thank you in advance ... and other ideas are greatly appreciated ... So far, I think sunscreen, insect repellent, 2 flutes of wine (or whatever is appropriate for the type of alcohol chosen), a welcome message with information about the hotel, water, maybe some snacks and water, perhaps a float of some sort for the pool, and some flip flop luggage tags ...
I've never heard of Nectar Imperial Moet & Chandon, but is very expensive. If you can afford it, it's a nice thought, but in general it is at least $ 50 -60 a bottle! How many guests you invite? If you can buy a better champagne that would be a nice thought but it depends on your guests - you do not drink champagne then they probably would not appreciate it. Get something they want and want to drink.
I quite agree with the first answer, I'd be very happy to have a bottle of Moet in a gift basket like that, but it can get quite expensive for you. How about linking your choice of alcohol in your destination. for example, is it a good micro brewery in the region that you would make a good deal or a drink that the region is famous for? I remember when I visited Jamaica, I found this drink called Ting grapefruit soda, I could not get enough of it, perhaps you could find something like that.
