Flights To Antarctica

I know to go to London from Seattle (and other cities like that), the plane flew toward the poles of the earth because it is faster flight time!
So what would you say in the southern hemisphere? Do they fly over Antarctica? If so, which flight (s)?

But those flights are specific to the Antarctic to see. No commercial flights go over the Antarctic to go somewhere - like they do on the northern hemisphere.

Other airlines flying over Antarctica, the Antarctic again for sight seeing. Air New Zealand has until a terrible accident in which a flight crashed into Mount Erebus, killing all 239 souls on board.

While I was at the South Pole a few years ago a Lan Chile flight tourist who flew totallity a solar eclipse passed over the South Pole. It was really cool to see a 747 big white fly over!

I guess the bottom line is that most of the inhabited areas in the Southern Hemisphere are too far north to the great circle routes over the pole more directly.

I think that New Zealand to Argentina or Chile would likely YES!

They do not believe me. If you were on the south side of the earth, way down south on the other hand, it would simply be easier to fly around because the south pole is where all the forces of the earth magenetic meet and going in totally different directions. If the aircraft does not fly fast enough, it can be completely torn.
